Turning 50 is a milestone event and worth reflecting on. Something in your article resonated with me even though we don't know each other at all.

My 50th was just over a month ago (21st April) and I had the honor of celebrating in my country of origin South Africa outside my comfort zone in a place I had never visited before. It's therapeutic to reflect on one's life choices (what got me to where I am) and the road ahead (what might I do differently to continue the adventure). I'm grateful for the wild rollercoaster ride, making a counry with a different langauge and culture a home. Seeing two wonderful kids start to blossom into adulthood. Reconciling differences within my family. Becoming mindful of mortality and the passing of a generational torch as I become an elder replacing those who guided me during my youth.

It's interesting but I came back to France as a changed man.
